If you haven’t already crafted your marketing plan for this year, don’t despair, there’s still time, but the earlier you get on this, the more effective it will be for your business this current year.
Knowing which direction we’re headed is obviously a good idea, and with something as many-headed as an online business, organization and a clear plan are a must.
But what specifics are you going to include in your marketing plan? Let’s take a look at 5 marketing plan ideas to help spur your thinking and perhaps become a part of the plan.
Marketing Plan Ideas To Get You Started
1 – Create a content marketing initiative
If one of your goals for this year is to create and post more content, and it should be, know that doing so can help in many ways. Not only for the immediate benefits of new and fresh content for your web properties but also providing you the ability to repurpose some of that into various forms, multiplying your efforts.
2 – Dive deep into video
If you haven’t already started making video an integral piece of your marketing plan, now is the time! There are lots of ways to do this, and a lot of them don’t require you to even be on camera, so being camera shy is no longer an excuse!
3 – Invest in your SEO
If your site or content has SEO issues, and you aren’t ranking as highly as you desire in Google’s organic search results, maybe it’s time to invest some time or money or both into improving your SEO. It will be resources well spent.
4 – Find other sources of traffic
Make it your business to investigate other forms of web traffic, and begin using them. Simply putting all your eggs into the Google basket has never been wise, and considering that there are so many great traffic sources available, the time is now. Perhaps it’s time for you to finally get into paid traffic as well this year.
5 – Adding any new products this year?
If you are planning to add another product, or several, this year, make sure to account for this in your plan, as it certainly will need some time and money as well.
Remember your marketing plan is a dynamic document and you should be revisiting it every quarter to make sure it is still the road map you need and to measure your progress toward your end goal!
